Our belts are cruelty free, eco friendly, and made locally in NYC. Our Animal Collection buckles depict the animals you're supporting, allowing you to wear their inspiring beauty without wearing their skin. Every purchase of a belt includes a belt strap, a buckle, and a belt keeper.
Buckles and Belt Keepers:For our buckles and belt keepers we use sterling silver and bronze, the metal of classical sculpture. For special orders we’ll make the buckle of your choice out of gold. We don't plate our pieces for aesthetic, health, and environmental reasons. (The process of plating is harmful to the workers and to the environment. In addition, eliminating this process saves energy and ensures the durability of our products.)
Belt Straps:The suede-like fabric we use for our belt straps is purely vegan, elegant, resilient and environmentally friendly and socially responsible. It is the result of the latest, most innovative recycling technology. And it can be easily cleaned with a bit of water and soap. The fabric of the front side of our belts is thick and embossed, and 100% recycled. The backside fabric is thinner and 70% recycled.
Donation:We donate 5% of our retail profits to the Woodstock Farm Animal Sanctuary, for providing loving and caring home for rescued farm animals.
More Information about the Metals we use:
Bronze is an alloy of copper and tin. It’s the most popular metal for casted sculptures, as it maintains the finest details of the mold, for its slight expansion and shrinking. Bronze doesn’t oxidize, and with time, if not cleaned, it looks even more expensive as it creates a “patina,” warm rich coating.
Sterling Silver is an alloy containing 92.5% silver, and %7.5 copper or other metals. This makes the silver harder and increases its resistance to tarnishing.
